NBC broadcast a 1987 Saturday morning preview special titled ALF Loves a Mystery, starring Jackee Harry, Betty White, Douglas Seale, Benji Gregory and Paul Fusco as the voice of ALF. Highlights from the special included:
Smurfs - An animated fantasy adventure that became a major motion picture from Sony Pictures Animation (SPA).
Foofur - Frank Welker voiced the fun-loving "blue pooch" in this animated cult classic from Hanna-Barbera (now Warner Bros. Animation).
Fraggle Rock - The Jim Henson Co. presented the adventures of those amazing, fun-loving critters created by Muppeteer Jim Henson himself.
The New Archies - Remember the Archies Comics series? Cookie Jar Entertainment resurrected Bob Montana's fun-lovin' teenagers in this 1987-1988 cartoon!
Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears - Based on the European sugar confection bearing their name, this was one of the most acclaimed Saturday morning animated series ever produced by Disney 16 years prior to the 1995 acquisition of the ABC Television Network. Disney Television Animation, today the in-house children's program production arm of Disney Channels Worldwide, developed and produced the half-hour show.
